At each of our restaurants, we make virtually everything homemade from scratch and strive to source as much as possible from our own farms and local sources. Visit one of our restaurants in Mutianyu, take a stroll through our gardens, visit our Schoolhouse Orchard to learn about our organic farming principles, and take home some of our homemade goods.

The Schoolhouse is based on an abandoned village school and is part of a sustainable tourism business founded by Jim Spear & Liang Tang, longtime expat residents of Mutianyu, in 2006. We offer local foods made fresh from scratch to groups of 12 to 144 people with family or buffet style menus. Advance booking is required. The operating season each year is early March to November, closed for winter vacation.
Xiaolumian, which translates to Little Hut Noodles, is a converted farmhouse belonging to a villager. Now a noodle shop Xiaolumian provides Mutianyu with a charming dining experience where guests enjoy fresh homemade noodles and dumplings in a beautifully restored building with original heated “kang” beds. This venue is available for private functions.
In addition to our restaurants, we provide a variety of indoor and outdoor venues for private events, and on and off-site catering for a parties and special events.
